Teaching your team to fish through effective coaching is critical to your organisation’s success.

It’s about developing a deeper level of thinking and providing the individual with the tools and framework to solve a number of problems themselves.

A coach is the co-pilot and is coaching the individual, not the situation.

Try incorporating the GROW Model into your next 1 to 1 conversation.

The acronym for GROW - Goal, Reality, Options and Way.

➡️ GOAL - What do you want?

  1. What do you want to achieve from this coaching session?

  2. What outcome would be ideal?

  3. What do you want to change?

➡️ REALITY - Where are you now?

  1. What do you think is stopping you?

  2. What could you do better this time?

  3. What is working well right now?

➡️ OPTIONS - What could you do?

  1. What are your options?

  2. What could be your first step?

  3. What would happen if you did nothing?

➡️ WAY - What will you do?

  1. How will you know when you have done it?

  2. When are you going to start?

  3. What do you need from me/others to help you achieve this?
